Adele is Best New Artist at This Years Grammy Awards

ADELE SNAGS 2 GRAMMY AWARDS

US TOUR KICKS OFF MARCH 9

NEW YORK, Feb. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- 20 year old British songstress Adele is the Best New Artist at this year's Grammy Awards, besting such competition as Jonas Brothers, Duffy, Jazmine Sullivan and Lady Antebellum. The London native also scored an additional Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. Viewers who tuned into the live ceremony, which took place from the Staples Center in Los Angeles earlier this evening, witnessed Adele deliver an astonishing performance of her song "Chasing Pavements."

Adele recently completed a tour of the U.S. which left the press celebrating her incredibly beautiful, intimate and special live performances. The Boston Herald proclaimed "Adele's amazing. Strikingly, staggeringly amazing." The San Jose Mercury News said Adele is a true musician while The Minneapolis Star Tribune raved "Adele left us wanting more - again."

Adele will return to the U.S. for a 9 city tour on March 9 in San Diego, CA at House of Blues. The tour will conclude on March 21 in Cleveland, OH at House of Blues (see below for full itinerary). Adele is set to headline Roseland Ballroom in New York on May 5 in celebration of her 21st birthday. Adele is also set to headline a very special evening at Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on June 28.

Adele's XL/Columbia Records debut 19, was released in the U.S. in June of 2008 and instantly began receiving raves from US press. People magazine exclaimed "Adele is Britain's best new singer" in their four star review. Adele made a series of high profile television appearances in support of the record, most notably performing on the highest rated episode of Saturday Night Live in over 14 years. 19 shot straight to #1 on iTunes charts and peaked at #11 on Billboard's Top 200 Album Chart. Adele can next be seen performing her song "Right As Rain" on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson (Feb 9) and performing her songs "Crazy For You" and "Melt My Heart To Stone" on Last Call with Carson Daly (Feb 10).

Adele - iTunes Live from Soho, was released on February 3, 2009 and immediately became a hit on the iTunes album chart. Both the live EP and her debut 19 occupy spots in the top 10 iTunes album chart). The stunning and intimate performance, recorded last Fall, features her hit "Chasing Pavements" as well as a spirited cover of Etta James' "Fool that I Am" and Sam Cooke's classic "That's It, I Quit, I'm Moving On." In eight songs, Adele quickly shows her range and the abilities that make her the most moving voice in Pop music in a very long time.
